About these numbers: DEF values are printed card stats from the official Konami database. Battle position, effects and equip spells change outcomes, so this page compares printed numbers only. Attack points live on the companion page.

About this converter

Every Yu-Gi-Oh! monster carries two numbers and the second one decides walls. Kuriboh and Skull Servant open at 200, Baby Dragon at 700, Exodia at 1000, Summoned Skull and Celtic Guardian tie at 1200, Jinzo at 1500, Dark Magician Girl at 1700, Red-Eyes, Neos, Stardust and Utopia tie at 2000, Dark Magician and Gaia tie at 2100, Blue-Eyes and Black Luster Soldier tie at 2500, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon at 3800 and Obelisk at 4000. That makes one Obelisk equal twenty Kuribohs. Every value here is the printed DEF from the Konami database with ATK quoted for context.

How to use it

Pick two monsters and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds the total in defense points. Try 1 Obelisk against Kuribohs.

Slifer and Ra stay out because their printed DEF is variable like their ATK. Tournament Obelisk pins 4000 even though anime text shifts. Attack points run on the companion attack page with the same card set, so use that page for ATK math.

FAQ

What is Blue-Eyes defense?

2500 DEF with 3000 ATK, per Konami database #4007.

What defends best here?

Obelisk at 4000. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon follows at 3800.

Why same cards as attack page?

Same set, other stat. Attack runs on the companion page.

Why no Slifer or Ra?

Their printed stats vary with game state, so no fixed number exists.
