Fiction Units uses almost no cookies. This page lists everything stored, why it exists, and how to control it.
Short version
- No advertising cookies. No cross site tracking. No social plugins.
- Two local storage entries only: your theme choice and your cookie banner choice.
- Cloudflare, the hosting provider, may set short lived security cookies to block abuse.

What Cloudflare may set
Pages are served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare can set strictly necessary security cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance) to tell humans apart from bots. Those come from Cloudflare infrastructure, last from minutes to a day, and this site cannot read or use them for analytics.
Consent and legal basis
The banner appears on your first visit. Pressing Accept or Reject both hide the banner and store your choice. Strictly necessary storage (theme, consent, Cloudflare security) does not need consent under EU rules because the site cannot work safely without it. Anything optional in the future will load only after you press Accept, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
How to change your choice
- Click Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the banner and pick again.
- Clear site data in your browser to delete both entries. The banner will appear again on the next visit.
- Use your browser cookie controls to block third party cookies. This site keeps working, since it sets none.
Do Not Track
This site runs no behavioral tracking, so there is nothing to disable beyond the steps above.
