About these numbers: There is no official way to convert power levels to newtons or joules. Power levels are story numbers from scouters, not physics units, and Toriyama stopped using them after the Frieza Saga. This page compares official readings against each other. Any site that gives you an exact newton value for Goku is guessing.

About this converter

Scouter readings are the most quoted numbers in Dragon Ball. They come from a short window of the story, from Raditz arriving on Earth to Goku turning Super Saiyan on Namek, plus the Daizenshuu 7 guidebook that collected them in 1996. Every value on this page is taken from the manga chapter, anime episode, V-Jump issue or Daizenshuu page where it was printed. Nothing here is estimated from fan theories. One caution: no new official battle powers were published after the Frieza Saga. Numbers you see online for Cell, Buu or Beerus are fan calculations based on transformation multipliers. We leave those out rather than present guesses as facts.

How to use it

Pick two fighters and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked: one holds an amount of the first fighter, one the matching amount of the second, one the value in the chosen unit. Change any box and the other two update. A ratio of 2 means the first fighter reads twice as high as the second. Switch the unit to Kili for the Babidi scale, where 1 kili equals roughly 50,000 scouter units.

Power levels scale fast. Goku goes from 8,000 against Vegeta to 150,000,000 as a Super Saiyan, a jump of almost 19,000 times in one arc. That is why later villains stopped getting numbers: the scale broke. The farmer with a power level of 5 is included because it anchors the whole scale to an ordinary person.

FAQ

What is Goku's highest official power level?

150,000,000 as a Super Saiyan against Frieza on Namek, from Daizenshuu 7. No higher official scouter reading was ever published for Goku.

Can power levels be converted to newtons?

No. There is no official formula. Power levels measure an in-story combat energy detected by scouters, not force in newtons. Treat any newton figure as fan fiction unless a source is cited.

Why are there no power levels for Cell, Buu or Jiren?

The author stopped giving numbers after the Frieza Saga. Guidebooks after that point describe fighters in words, not readings. We only list published numbers to keep every entry verifiable.

What is a kili?

A unit used by Babidi's group in the Buu Saga. Yakon reads 800 kili, and Dabura says 4,000 kili can destroy a planet. Fan guides commonly equate high kili values with scouter numbers, but the series never gives an exact exchange rate, so we use the widely cited 1 kili = 50,000 PL only as an optional display unit.
