About this converter
D&D 5e lists eight official mounts from 40 to 60 feet per round. Mule and Donkey and Elephant and Draft Horse and Mastiff and Pony open at 40, Camel at 50 and Riding Horse and Warhorse at 60. That makes a Riding Horse fifty percent faster than a Mule before Dash. Every figure here is the SRD mounts table which matches the Player Handbook chapter 5 list, so exotic and monster mounts sit out.
How to use it
Pick two mounts and a unit in the top row, for example Warhorse and Mule. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first speed, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds feet or squares. Try 1 Warhorse against Mules.
Only eight mounts exist in the official table, so this page lists fewer than ten by design. Carry weights and gold costs are noted per row but speed is the compared value. Flying and swimming mounts have no official table entries and stay out as unknown. Dash doubles these speeds in chase math on grid maps. All set.
