About this converter

Stellaris 4.4 charges energy upkeep per district per month before jobs and modifiers. Generator and Mining districts cost 1 energy each and fund themselves through technician and miner output. City District, Central Nexus, Hive Cluster, Habitation District, Habitation Decks, Prison District, Slave Domicile and Attraction District each cost 2 energy. Residential Arcology, City Segment and Hive Segment each cost 5 energy with far larger housing totals from 1500 to 3000. One Hive Segment equals five Generator Districts of upkeep. Every figure here is the upkeep cell from the Paradox Stellaris Wiki districts table pinned to 4.4.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first district, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds total energy upkeep. Try Hive Segment against Generator District to see the 5 to 1 gap, then City District against Residential Arcology.

Rows use energy upkeep only. Habitation District also takes 0.5 alloys per month, flagged in its row and left out of the energy value. Job upkeep, empire size and tradition cuts sit outside district cells. Wilderness Communal Biome and machine Nexus Segment use the same 2 and 5 bands and stay out to keep the ladder readable. Omitted: food and biomass costs on special districts, which use separate resources.
