Pick two gems and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first gem casts, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds total mana. Try Arc at 10 against Cyclone at 2 to see the five to one cast gap.
Rows use gem level 1 mana cost from PoEDB and PoE Wiki progression tables. Gem level 20 costs sit outside except where noted in context. Vaal gems use souls plus mana and stay out. Righteous Fire at 16 and Lightning Strike rework lack clean level 1 excerpts and stay out. Omitted: support multipliers, quality effects and attack versus spell tags, which shift real spend.
