About this converter

The Pacific Crest Trail runs from Mexico to Canada. The Pacific Crest Trail Association splits it into 29 lettered sections. California holds 18 sections from A to R. Oregon and Washington hold the rest. This page covers California Sections A to N. Section A starts at Campo. Section A ends at Warner Springs at 109.5 miles. Section H in the High Sierra is longest here at 175.5 miles. Section L is shortest here at 38.3 miles. Miles come from the 2018 Halfmile overview map hosted by PCTA.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Start with Section A and Section B. Then test Section H against Section L. Switch the top unit from Kilometers to Miles. The three boxes update at once. This shows how Sierra miles stack up.

Section mileages match pcta.org overview PDF and pcta.org trail conditions pages. Section names match Forest Service pages. Total PCT length is now 2655.84 miles in PCTA 2026 centerline data. That is more than the 2650 mile poster figure. Older guides still print 2650 miles. Oregon and Washington sections are left out to keep this set at 14 rows. Small reroutes after 2018 are also left out. No single official per-section update exists for all later shifts.
