About this converter
Java villagers use fixed base rates, so each trade converts to emeralds per item. A Fletcher pays 1 emerald for 32 sticks, a Cleric pays 1 for 32 rotten flesh, a Librarian pays 1 for 24 paper, a Farmer pays 1 for 20 wheat and a Fisherman pays 1 for 20 string. That puts sticks and flesh at 0.03 emeralds each, paper at 0.04, string and wheat at 0.05. Heavier goods pay more per item. Shepherd wool needs 18 per emerald, coal needs 15 at Armorer shops and 10 at Fisherman shops, clay needs 10 at Mason shops and iron needs 4 at Toolsmith shops. Buying runs the other way. Shears cost 2 emeralds and a bookshelf costs 9. All figures are Java Edition base prices from the trade files. Curing and reputation shift paid prices, but base rates stay fixed.
How to use it
Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first trade, one holds a count of the second, one holds emeralds. Try 1 bookshelf against sticks to see 9 emeralds as 288 sticks. Click a table row to load that trade as Entry A with amount 1.
Base rates only. Reputation, gossip and cured discounts can cut costs to 1 emerald, and demand can push item counts up, but the table does not track those shifts. Brown, black and gray wool share the 18 rate, so white wool stands in for all wool. Armorer, Toolsmith and Weaponsmith share the 15 coal and 4 iron rates. Variable enchanted gear is left out because prices move by roll. Enchanted books run 5 to 64 emeralds and enchanted diamond swords run 13 to 27. Cartographer maps are left out because cost is fixed while value varies by destination. No figure here is guessed.
