About this converter
EVE Online insurance charges a fee in ISK and pays out by hull, not by market price. CCP bases the payout on build materials and multiplies by ship type, then charges 30 percent of the platinum payout as the fee. T1 frigates insure well and pirate hulls insure poorly. This table puts 12 CCP platinum fees on one ISK scale, from the Praxis at under 1 ISK to the Moros at 800 million ISK. Rupture platinum at about 2.14 million anchors the middle. All rows are fees paid, not payouts received.
How to use it
Pick two ships and a unit in the top row, for example Rupture and Worm with ISK. The three boxes below stay linked, so editing any number updates the other two. One box holds counts of the first insurance fee, one holds counts of the second, one holds the total in the chosen unit. Try 1 Moros against Rifters to feel the capital to frigate gap.
CCP recalculates insurance values regularly as material markets move, so fees drift over time. Rupture tier costs come straight from the EVE University table. Worm and Raven fees are direct forum quotes. Rifter, Probe, Retriever and Garmur fees equal 30 percent of cited platinum payouts. Crane uses the poster's around 19M figure. Abaddon and Praxis derive platinum from cited uninsured payouts at 40 percent, then take 30 percent as the fee. Raven and Moros era figures are historical and current fees differ. No dollar conversion appears because ISK has no fixed cash rate.
FAQ
Which ship costs the most to insure here?
The Moros at 800,000,000 ISK in a 2014 post. Next is Revelation at about 90,000,000 estimated from a 300m payout quote. Capital hulls cost far more to insure than frigates.
Why is Praxis insurance under 1 ISK?
The Praxis at 0.9 ISK platinum fee, derived from a 1.20 ISK uninsured payout. Uninsured pays 40 percent, so platinum payout is 3.0 and the 30 percent fee is 0.9. Gnosis and Praxis hulls carry a very low type multiplier.
How are derived fees worked out?
Platinum fee is 30 percent of the platinum payout. Rifter payout 368,250 gives 110,475. Garmur payout 452,867 gives 135,860. Abaddon uninsured 51M implies platinum payout 127.5M and a 38.25M fee. The rule comes from EVE forum posts and matches the Rupture table.
Do insurance fees change over time?
Yes. CCP support states values are recalculated regularly for material markets. Raven 2007 and Moros 2014 figures are historical and current fees differ. Use rows to compare scale, and check the in game insurance window for live fees before undocking.
