About this converter
Carcassonne pays per tile with fixed rates. Roads pay 1 per tile, so a 2 tile road scores 2 and a 5 tile road scores 5. Cities pay 2 per tile plus 2 per pennant, so a 2 tile city with no pennant scores 4, with one pennant 6, and a 4 tile city with one pennant 10. Monasteries pay 9 complete and 1 per tile plus self when incomplete. Fields pay 3 per adjacent completed city at game end. Incomplete cities pay half at 1 per tile and pennant. Every figure here is the Z-Man rulebook rate with worked totals.
How to use it
Pick two scorings and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 completed monastery against 3 tile roads to see the nine to three gap.
Values are worked example totals at official rates, not separate rules. The 2 point small city from the rulebook example scores 4 by the same rate. Farmers never score mid game and stay out of turn scoring rows. River and expansion tiles use the same rates and stay noted. Ties split nothing: all tied majorities score full points.
FAQ
How does road scoring work?
1 point per tile when closed at both ends by villages, cities, monasteries or a loop. A 3 tile road scores 3.
How does city scoring work?
2 points per tile plus 2 per pennant when fully walled with no gaps. A 2 tile city with one pennant scores 6.
How much is a completed monastery?
9 points when fully surrounded by 8 tiles: 8 for the ring plus 1 for the monastery tile itself.
How do farms score?
3 points per adjacent completed city at game end only. Farmers stay on the board all game.
