About these numbers: Prices are the Merchant's fixed base buy prices documented on the Terraria Wiki, normalized to copper coins. Re-Logic never set a coin to dollar rate, so this page compares coin prices against each other and offers no USD conversion rather than inventing one.

About this converter

Terraria coins convert at clean rates: 100 copper to a silver and 100 silver to a gold, so 10,000 copper makes one gold coin. The Merchant's always-available stock spans that whole ladder, from a 5 copper Wooden Arrow to a 4 gold Mining Helmet at 40,000 copper. That helmet costs the same as 800 Torches at 50 copper each, while a 1 gold Piggy Bank equals 200 Torches. Mid-table tools cluster in silver: Lesser Mana Potion at 1 silver, Lesser Healing Potion at 3, Copper Axe at 4, Copper Pickaxe at 5, Bug Net at 25, Iron Anvil at 50 and Sickle at 60. Every figure here is the fixed base price from the Terraria Wiki, with happiness, Discount Card and Greedy Ring modifiers left out so rows compare fairly.

How to use it

Pick two items and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked: one holds a count of the first item, one the matching count of the second, one the total in the chosen coin. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Mining Helmet against Torches.

Only always-available Merchant stock appears here. Biome, event, Hardmode, Blood Moon, night and party stock varies by condition and stays out, as do the Traveling and Skeleton Merchant random inventories. NPC happiness and discount accessories shift what you pay, but the base prices never move.

FAQ

What is the cheapest Merchant item?

The Wooden Arrow at 5 copper. Ten arrows buy one Torch.

What is the most expensive always-available item?

The Mining Helmet at 4 gold, or 40,000 copper. That is 800 Torches.

How do Terraria coins convert?

100 copper per silver and 100 silver per gold, so one gold is 10,000 copper.

Why are some Merchant items missing?

Conditional stock tied to biomes, events, Hardmode or time of day has no single fixed price, so only always-available goods made this table.
