About these numbers: Scores are Atari 1981 TM-190 manual values via Arcade-History and Tempest 2000 manual reprint. Fuseball pays by distance. Start bonuses pay once per game on clear of the start level.

About this converter

Atari Tempest 1981 pays distance over bravery. Spike hits pay 1 to 3, Spiker 50, Tanker 100, Flipper 150, Pulsar 200, Fuseball far 250, mid 500, near 750. Start bonuses climb faster, with Level 3 at 6000, Level 5 at 16000, Level 7 at 32000, Level 9 at 54000 and Level 11 at 74000. That makes Level 11 equal almost one hundred Fuseball nears or almost five hundred Flippers. Tankers split into Flippers, Fuseballs or Pulsars with no extra ticket for the split itself. Every figure here is the manual ticket, with distance tiers kept as separate rows.

How to use it

Pick two actions and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked: one holds a count of the first action, one the matching count of the second, one the total in points. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Level 11 bonus against Flippers.

Missiles give no points and stay out. Superzapper clears the field once per level with no ticket per foe, so it stays out too. Spike 1 to 3 pins 3 here for clean math, noted as max. Later start levels to 81 pay higher bonuses and stay out except the five rows shown.
