About this converter

Stronghold 1 Barracks units cost gold at recruit time with weapons, armor and a free peasant pre-stocked. Laddermen cost 4, Spearmen cost 8, Monks cost 10, Archers cost 12, Macemen, Crossbowmen and Pikemen cost 20 each, Engineers and Tunnellers cost 30 each, and Swordsmen and Knights cost 40 each. Peasants cost 0 gold and flow from Hovels on housing and popularity. Wood, stone and iron feed weapon shops upstream rather than per unit tags. Barracks cost 15 stone and the Stable runs about 400 gold for Knight horses. Every figure here is the recruit gold cell from Barracks tables with GameFAQs FAQ and manual cross checks.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Knight against 1 Spearman to see the top to basic gap. The ratio line prints how many times pricier one hire is.

Swordsman reads 40 on its dedicated page and FAQs against 20 in one transcluded overview row, and the table uses 40. Monk and Stable prices come from Crusader guides presumed same in SH1, flagged for in-game checks. The zero Peasant row sits last so default picks stay numeric.
