About this converter

Scythe fights run on two numbers. The power dial sets hidden spend from 0 to 7. Combat cards add 2 to 5 each, one per fighting character or mech. The board track caps at 16 power. The deck holds 42 cards with a fixed split. Sixteen 2s, twelve 3s, eight 4s and six 5s. That split sets every bluff. Most hands hold 2s and 3s. A 5 is scarce. The dial cap matters as much as the cards. A player at 16 power still dials at most 7. Mech abilities shift the track by 2 before reveal. Sword, Shield, Disarm and Artillery each move 2. Stars for combat victories cap at 2 per player, Saxony excepted.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Two-unit max hit against Combat card 2 power to see the 17 to 2 gap. The unit stays on Power, since all rows use the same base. Click any table row to load it as Entry A with amount 1.

Counts come from the Stonemaier combat deck table. Percentages are deck shares, not draw odds after discards. Track moves from abilities use the same power points as dial spend. No official variant changes these numbers. If your group plays with the Invaders or wind gambit modules, card counts stay the same. Omitted on purpose: faction starting power varies by mat pairing, so no single start value is listed.

FAQ

What is the Scythe combat deck split?

42 cards: sixteen 2s, twelve 3s, eight 4s and six 5s. Total face power is 130. Average is about 3.1.

What is the max power you can spend?

7 on the dial per combat, even if your track shows 16. Cards add on top, one per fighting unit.

How does Bolster compare to a card?

Bolster pays $1 for 2 track power or 1 fresh card. A fresh card averages 3.1 power but only if you have a unit to play it.

Do mech abilities stack with cards?

Yes. Sword, Shield, Disarm and Artillery shift track power by 2 before reveal. Cards then add on top of the dial number.
