About this converter

Candy cost sets how fast you can evolve in Pokemon GO. Common bugs cost 12 candy for the first step. Rare picks like Magikarp need 400 candy for one step. This page lines up 15 species on the same candy scale. Costs come from Niantic posts and the live Game Master data as shown on Serebii and Bulbapedia. All values are base evolve costs with no discounts. Trade lines show full cost with the zero candy trade case in notes.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Try Magikarp at 400 against Pidgey at 12 to feel the gap. Try Gible at 25 against Haunter at 100 to plan rare candy use. The base unit is candy, so the math shows how many evolves each stock allows.

First stage costs differ from second stage costs. Gible needs 25 candy to reach Gabite and 100 more to reach Garchomp. Larvitar and Cosmog follow the same 25 then 100 path. Haunter needs 100 candy, or zero candy if received in a trade. Kadabra, Machoke and Graveler share the same zero candy trade rule. Boldore, Gurdurr and other trade lines are not listed as separate entries to keep the set at 15. Purified forms need 10 percent less, which this page does not apply.
