About this converter

This page compares Pathfinder First Edition scroll prices by spell level. Prices come from the Archives of Nethys legacy scroll table and the Core Rulebook formula of spell level times caster level times 25 gold. A level 0 scroll costs 12.5 gold. A 1st level scroll costs 25 gold. Costs rise fast after 5th level and reach 3825 gold for a 9th level wizard scroll. The list uses wizard, cleric, and druid minimum caster levels as the base line.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Start with a 1st level scroll and a 9th level scroll to see the full range. Then test mid levels like 3rd and 5th to plan purchases.

Base prices follow spell level times caster level times 25 gold plus any costly parts. Wizard, cleric, and druid levels give the lowest cost for most levels. Sorcerer and bard scrolls cost more at some levels because their minimum caster level is higher. Level 2 shows both 150 gold and 200 gold for this reason. Level 3 shows both 375 gold and 450 gold. Always check the spell description for added material costs. These are Pathfinder 1e prices, not 2e rank prices.

FAQ

How is a Pathfinder 1e scroll price set?

Base price is spell level times caster level times 25 gold. Add any costly material part for that spell.

Why do two prices exist for the same spell level?

Different classes reach the spell at different caster levels. Wizard is often cheapest, sorcerer and bard are often higher.

Are these Pathfinder 1e or 2e prices?

These are Pathfinder 1e prices from the legacy Archives of Nethys table.

Do scrolls show material costs?

No. Listed values are base prices only. If the spell needs costly parts, that cost is added when the scroll is made.
