About this converter

These are Ability Tree prices from Ori and the Blind Forest, paid in Ability Points earned from Spirit Light XP. The list covers Utility, Efficiency and Combat branches. Entry upgrades cost 1 point: Rekindle, Regroup, Spirit Magnet, Map Markers, Quick Flame, Spark Flame, Split Flame and Charge Flame Burn. Mid upgrades cost 2 points: Cinder Flame, Rapid Flame, Ultra Stomp and Spirit Efficiency. Top Combat upgrades cost 3 points: Charge Flame Blast and Ultra Split Flame. That makes one Ultra Split Flame equal three Quick Flames.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first ability, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds total points. Try Quick Flame against Ultra Split Flame to see the 1 to 3 gap.

Ability Points come from Spirit Light XP, enemy kills, plants and Spirit Light containers. Ability Cells grant a free point and skip XP. Core movement skills like Bash, Climb, Double Jump and Charge Flame are learned from Ancestral Trees with no point price, so they stay out and the omission is stated here. Definitive Edition adds Air Dash, Charge Dash and Ultra Light Burst. Points have no official dollar rate, so this page compares points to points.

FAQ

What does Spirit Efficiency do?

It doubles Spirit Light from foes, plants, containers and healing flowers. It does not affect Ability Point Cells.

Why do some abilities cost 3 points?

Top tier Combat upgrades cost 3. Charge Flame Blast and Ultra Split Flame are in this tier.

Can I finish the game with zero points spent?

Yes. The wiki notes an achievement for zero points spent, including 100 percent collection runs.

Do I need the base skill before buying its upgrade?

In the base game yes. In Definitive Edition you can buy early, but it stays idle until you learn the skill.
