About this converter

Starships in No Man's Sky roll base stats inside fixed ranges, and damage potential is the offensive one. Fighters top the list with S-class rolls from 70 to 90. Interceptors follow at 60 to 80. Solar ships run 60 to 75, while Exotics and Living Ships run 50 to 75. Shuttles sit low at 25 to 30. Haulers run 15 to 30. Explorers always roll zero. That makes one max roll Fighter equal three max roll Haulers. These are intrinsic base stats before tech modules. Any ship can mount an Infra-Knife or Phase Beam and burn through pirates, so damage rolls matter less than the table suggests. Shields, maneuverability and hyperdrive range usually decide which ship feels best.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first ship roll, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds total damage potential. Try a max roll Fighter at 90 against a max roll Hauler at 30 to see the three to one gap, then an Interceptor max at 80 against a Solar max at 75. Only damage potential is used here.

Rows pin S-class base damage rolls from the Steam community stat guide by Zesty, which lists the headline max per type plus the full roll range. Max rows use the top of each range and Min rows use the bottom, so the spread of each type stays visible. Explorer pins a single zero row since its range is zero to zero. Values exclude all tech and upgrade module bonuses, which add flat damage on top. Corvette class ships stay out because the guide predates their full stat tables. Lower grades (C, B, A) scale these numbers down, so every row assumes S-class.

FAQ

Which ship type has the highest damage potential?

Fighter at 70 to 90 S-class base. Interceptor follows at 60 to 80.

Why is the Explorer listed at zero?

Its base damage range is zero to zero. Explorers rely fully on installed weapons tech for offense.

Do these numbers include weapons tech?

No. Rows pin intrinsic base stats only. Tech modules and upgrades add flat damage on top of these rolls.

Why are Corvettes missing?

They stay out. The stat guide used here predates full Corvette stat tables, so no pinned per type damage range exists in these sources.
