About this converter
Konoha pays by danger band, not by hour. D-rank runs 5,000 to 50,000 ryo for farm help and pet search. C-rank runs 30,000 to 100,000 for bandit guard and background checks. B-rank runs 80,000 to 200,000 once enemy ninja may appear. A-rank runs 150,000 to 1,000,000 for VIP guard and force suppression. S-rank starts at 1,000,000 and climbs for state secrets, assassination and classified transport. Black market prices sit above mission pay: Gosunkugi at 3,000,000, Chiriku at 30,000,000, Asuma at 35,000,000, Utakata at 50,000,000 in anime, and the Mujina demand at 500,000,000. Every band comes from the Official Fanbook tables.
How to use it
Pick two entries and a currency in the top row, for example S-rank minimum and US dollar. The three boxes below stay linked, so editing any number updates the other two. Try 1 Asuma bounty against D-rank lows. Rates used: 1 Ryo = 10 JPY, 15 Ryo = $1, 16.2 Ryo = 1 EUR, 19 Ryo = 1 GBP. These fiat rates are rounded estimates.
Single mission fees for Team 7 jobs were never printed, so those jobs stay out. The Land of Waves escort started as C-rank and turned A-rank in practice, but no exact fee was stated and it stays out too. Kakashi mission counts come from Hiden Rin no Sho (2002), with 38 S-rank and 276 A-rank by age 26, and the page uses band math rather than guessing his personal cut.
FAQ
How much does a D-rank mission pay?
5,000 to 50,000 ryo per the Official Fanbook. That is 50,000 to 500,000 yen, or about $333 to $3,333.
How much does an S-rank mission pay?
1,000,000 ryo minimum, with no top listed. That floor is 10,000,000 yen or about $66,667.
Is 1 Ryo really 10 yen?
Yes. Manga vol. 17 gives 1 Ryo as about 10 yen, and the fanbooks repeat it. Dollar math follows from yen FX rates.
