About these numbers: Ratings are base Construction Set values before armor skill scaling. Displayed in-game rating rises with skill, so this page compares base ratings.

About this converter

Morrowind armor carries a base rating in the Construction Set, and tiers climb in clear steps. Iron opens at 10, steel is 15, Dwemer is 20, and Orcish is 30. Glass jumps to 50 across helm, cuirass, pauldrons, greaves, boots and shield, with the tower shield at 55. Ebony is 60. Daedric helms split by face: Inspiration is 65, Terror is 75, and God plus cuirass, greaves, boots and pauldrons are 80. Displayed rating in game rises with Heavy, Medium or Light skill toward max values, such as 266 for Daedric Cuirass at 100 skill, but the base never moves. Every figure here is the base cell from UESP armor tables.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Daedric Cuirass against 1 Iron Cuirass to see the top to starter gap. The ratio line prints the exact multiple at base rating.

Ebony pauldrons read 60 on UESP and 100 on some fan pages, so the table uses the 60 Construction Set value and leaves pauldrons out of the Ebony row. Unique artifacts with enchantments are left out to keep one clean base rating ladder.
