About this converter

Minecraft XP totals grow faster at higher levels. Levels 0 to 16 follow level squared plus 6 times level. Levels 17 to 31 use a steeper curve. Levels 32 and up use the steepest curve. Level 5 needs 55 total, level 10 needs 160, level 16 needs 352 and level 30 needs 1395. A common hostile mob drops 5 XP, so level 30 equals 279 mob kills. The Ender Dragon gives 12000 on first kill and 500 on later kills. The Wither gives 50. That makes one first dragon kill equal over eight level 30 bars.

How to use it

Pick two entries and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked. Change any box and the other two update. One box holds a count of the first entry, one holds the matching count of the second, one holds total XP. Try two levels to compare point totals, or a mob kill against a level total.

Level 30 is the enchanting table max and level 39 is the anvil too expensive cap in survival. An enchant at level 30 only charges 3 levels plus lapis, but the bar math still uses point totals. Death drops at most 100 XP. Ore, smelting and bottle sources stay out of this table.
