About these numbers: MGR rounds are ammo used as money in game. No real world exchange exists for them, so this page compares MGR prices against each other and offers no USD conversion rather than inventing one.

About this converter

Metro 2033 uses military grade 5.45 rounds as money, and every station vendor charges them. A medkit costs 10 MGR, a silenced Revolver costs 75, and a Kalash costs 142 at the Armory. That means one Kalash equals 14 medkits or almost 2 early pistols. Every figure on this page is a fixed vendor price from the Metro Wiki Weapon Vendors tables for the original game. Prices below are Normal difficulty first prices. Ranger mode cuts many early prices by about 20 percent, and the table notes both where they split.

How to use it

Pick two prices and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked: one holds a count of the first price, one the matching count of the second, one the total in MGR. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Kalash against medkits, or a scoped VSV against early pistols.

Basic survival goods hold at 10 MGR for medkits, filters and throwing knives on Normal, or 8 on Ranger. Grenades cost 15 and sticky grenades 20. Late game rifles climb fast: Duplet 63, Kalash 142, and scoped VSV 221 at the Armory. A kitted Kalash 2012 package at Polis costs 237.
