About this converter
Metal Shards are the coin of Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy earns them from machines and spends them at any merchant, and every weapon tier has a fixed shard price. A green Tripcaster costs 90 shards, a blue Carja Tripcaster costs 180, and a purple Shadow Tripcaster costs 750 plus a Scrapper Heart. Bows follow the same ladder: a green Sharpshot Bow is 105, a blue Carja Sharpshot is 210, and a purple Shadow Sharpshot is 800 plus a Sawtooth Heart. Armor uses the same coin. The Carja Blazon Heavy is 780 shards, the Nora Survivor Heavy is 900, and the top Shadow slings run past 1,000. Each figure on this page is the shard part taken from the in-game merchant screen as copied by IGN, Game8 and GameFAQs guides.

Almost every purple purchase pairs shards with machine parts, so the table lists the shard part as the value and names the extra part in the note. Hearts, braiding, blaze and skins are not priced here because their cost is a hunt, not a coin. Green and blue tiers need fewer parts, which is why speedrunners often stop at blue. No entries come from New Game Plus adept gear or the Frozen Wilds Banuk line, which use a separate economy with Bluegleam.
