About these numbers: Prices are fixed live game fees documented on UESP. ZeniMax never set a gold to dollar rate for these fees, so this page compares gold costs against each other and offers no USD conversion rather than inventing one.

About this converter

Elder Scrolls Online charges fixed gold fees for riding lessons, storage and housing, which makes every purchase easy to compare. One riding lesson costs 250 gold, the first backpack upgrade costs 400, and the Humblemud house costs 40,000. That means one small house equals 160 riding lessons or 100 first bag upgrades. Every figure on this page is a fixed UESP documented price for the live game: stable training, Pack Merchant steps, banker steps, inn rooms and small houses. Bag prices follow the post Update 49 table. Gold has no official dollar rate, so this page compares gold costs to each other.

How to use it

Pick two costs and a unit in the top row. The three boxes below stay linked: one holds a count of the first cost, one the matching count of the second, one the total in gold. Change any box and the other two update. Try 1 Humblemud house against riding lessons, or a full backpack line against bank upgrades.

The old 10,000 gold Sorrel Horse is left out because it is no longer sold: Update 17 made the first horse free at level 10. Riding lessons cap at 60 points per stat with one purchase per day. Backpack steps cost 400, 1,400, 4,200 and 9,000 for a 15,000 total. Bank steps cost 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000. The first inn room is free from the Room to Spare quest, and extra rooms cost 3,000 each.
